East Theatre

East Theatre is very excited to announce our musical, Newsies!

Newsies runs April 28 & 29 at 7:00 pm and April 30 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for students/senior citizens/District 308 staff, $12 for adult

This family-friendly musical is approximately 2 hours (with an intermission) and is based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899. Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.”

Oswego East staff will receive 1 free ticket for any performance and you can buy additional tickets at the student rate of $8. Tickets can be purchased online through this link.

The band and choir programs are going to Disney World & Universal Studios over winter break of next school year from December 27th to January 1st. We have close to 200 students going. We are in need of approximately 5 male and 5 female chaperones to come with us on the trip.

The trip is FREE for if you room with another chaperone. If you would like a single room, it is an additional cost.

Here is a flyer for the trip that outlines our itinerary.

It is a lot of fun and we would love to have you! If interested, please email Stevan Rexroat at srexroat@sd308.org. Thank you!

Six Flags

We are looking for teachers to help chaperone our Six Flags Grad Nite on Saturday May 14th from 7:45 PM to about 5:30 AM.  You get to ride all the rides and get as much food as you can eat for free.  It is a great time and the students really need you to make this trip happen.  If you would like to chaperone or need more information please contact Mr. Szymanski
