East Theatre

East Theatre presents NEWSIES and we are looking for additions to our cast! We have opportunities if you'd like to join us!

Teacher Opportunity: We are looking for several teachers (preferably male identifying) to play Governor Teddy Roosevelt! You'd have several lines and would have an integral role at the end of the show. You would need to be available for at least 2-3 after school rehearsals in March, 1 rehearsal during our tech week April 21-27 and then 1 performance on April 28, 29 or 30.

You can preview the script that is attached.

Child Actor Opportunity: We are looking for a 9 - 12 year old (or someone who reads age 10) to play Les! Les is the younger brother of Davey who joins the newsies to help their struggling family. Les is bold, sarcastic and full of life! Les will need to be a confident actor, able to memorize, have the ability to learn choreography and sing a small solo.

To audition, we are asking for interested actors to submit a video performance of two scenes and a song. All materials can be found here. Audition forms and performance videos are due by February 25.

Mattress Fundraiser - Band Boosters

Are you in need of a mattress? Consider supporting the OEHS Band Program by purchasing a mattress at our fundraiser on March 20th here at OEHS! The main gym will be turned into a showroom with close to 30 name brand mattress types. All faculty and staff (and your families!) get 10% off the purchase price of each mattress.

If you also mention an OE band student when you purchase, they will get $25 that will go into their account to pay for their trip to Disney/Universal Studios next school year.
