Model UN

Saturday January 27th, nine members of the Oswego East Model United Nations Club participated in Naperville North Model United Nation IV Conference. The Oswego East Team won Outstanding Small Delegation! The MUN students engaged in debates over given topics (terrorism, violence against LGBTQ+ and  genetic engineering) in committees such as UNICEF, Interpol, SOCHUM and Crisis committee. The delegates represented India, North Korea and Germany as well as  Ken from Toy Story for a special session.  The preparation for the conference required students to research and write position papers for the topics for their respective committee. They did a great job!  Harper Antikainen was recognized as Honorable Delegates in the Crisis Committee - Toy Story. This is Harper's second Honorable Delegate Award this year. Andrew Medrano won Outstanding Delegate for his representation of India in the UNICEF committee. What a great job!  If you have any of these students in class, please commend them for a job well done.

MOSAIC - TONIGHT!

A Note from the OE Library

Fun Contest in the library!

Stop by and guess how many conversation hearts are in the water bottle.

Winner will be announced on Valentine's Day!!

New sign in the library!  Not to be confused with Peer Tutoring... we are talking about the OE Library side of the LRC here :)

We are running out of room on the library side of the LRC (we kinda knew this would happen). To better serve students in need of a quiet place to work, we are transitioning into a quiet work space. In addition, we have created a dedicated "Quiet Zone" for reading where conversations are asked to be kept to a minimum :).

Students visiting the library from lunch will be asked to return to the commons to make room from students visiting from ASP GS and FS who are in search of a space to focus on their work.  We know there are exceptions to this ask and we are happy to accommodate students with an alternate location to meet their needs. Please reach out to Nicky to discuss any individual students.

A few gentle reminders:

Attention all FS GS & ASP teachers:

Please Do Not write passes for students to visit the library during this time unless you are the student's subject area teacher. Students are directed to get passes from their subject area teachers.

Attention all Subject  Area teachers:

Please Do Not write passes for students to visit the library after the tardy bell has rung for the current period. The expectation is for a student is to arrive on time to the library. Students arriving after the bell will be asked to return to their classroom.

A reminder from Peer Tutoring:

Students do not need a pass to attend Peer Tutoring, but are expected to arrive on time.  Students should attend when they need the support of a tutor for a task in a class.

As always, we ALL whole-heartedly thank you for your support!

OE Theatre

The cast and crew of The Great Gatsby would like to thank all the teachers and staff who came out to support them. Whether you asked us in class about the show, hung a poster to help promote, appeared in our Instagram stories, or were in the audience cheering us on -- we can't thank you enough! Your support means so much to us!
