For every $250 we raise our school will receive 24 flags to display in our field flags the week of Veterans Day. Please consider donating in honor of a Veteran or if you would like to make a donation in the name of your club or sport, I can help you set that up. For every item purchased, $2 goes back to our BIONIC club. The store closes on Oct 27th.
The OEHS Key Club is joining forces with UNICEF to help raise money for their Start Strong: Zambia initiative. The goal is to raise money to build community centers and medical centers for those in need.
There are TWO ways you can join in this great opportunity.
#1
Our Key Club is hosting an all ages, community wide fundraiser called PAINT-A-PUMPKIN. Participants will be able to buy different sized pumpkins to decorate and take home just in time for Halloween. We will also be listening to spooky Halloween music and taking photos at our photobooth. Please spread the word and register asap so we know how many pumpkins are needed. :)
#2
Our Key Club is also participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. Key Club members are collecting money to fill their UNICEF boxes to raise money to donate. We would love teachers to get involved and have a classroom collection box.
If you would like to have a collection box in your room please email mniesluchowski@sd308.org and Michelle will drop one off. We would love to make this a contest if we get enough teacher classrooms involved. Each teacher can designate a specific period to collect from to win a prize and bragging rights. Who is in? Email Michelle.

The AVID Elective at Oswego East High School helps students to achieve College and Career Readiness by spending four years researching potential careers, post-high school options, and drafting their life’s blueprint. Students grow through challenges, celebrate successes, and explore the many possibilities life has to offer. Each year, the AVID junior elective class creates a display case that represents the mission and goals of AVID, what it means to them as students, and why the program is so impactful. This year, the juniors created a display case titled “Inching Our Way to Success” and have decided to depict AVID’s mission for student success through a butterfly’s life cycle. Below is what the students had to share about their design:
“Our display case features butterflies to illustrate the stages to success through a butterfly's life cycle. On the left side of our display case, a butterfly’s life is depicted from a caterpillar symbolizing high school, a cocoon symbolizing future schooling and training, and finally a butterfly as future careers. The AVID caterpillar will be walking across a log, and behind it will be predators of success, like procrastination, self doubt, and negative thoughts. The cocoons will be on a tree with the trunk adorned with college flags, and the cocoons themselves will have different colleges and future paths, like community colleges, 4-year universities, military branches, and trade schools. The right side of the display case will have a photo shoot of butterfly wings that above it says, “You Have to Spread Your Wings to Succeed,” encouraging students to take risks to achieve their goals. We have also included some life hacks and student-created statements about AVID’s impact on their lives.”

Help Build Homes and Hope in Guatemala
Dear friends,
This November, I'm headed to Guatemala to join forces with From Houses to Homes, a foundation dedicated to building houses for families in need around Antigua. This incredible organization is making a tangible difference in the lives of many, and I'm excited to be part of their mission.
Your support can help these families find shelter and security. Every dollar you contribute, no matter how small, will go a long way in creating homes for those who desperately need them. It's not just about bricks and mortar; it's about giving people a chance for a better life.
I truly appreciate your kindness and generosity as we work together to change lives. Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a real impact.
Warm regards,
Fati López
