The CVE (Cooperative Vocational Education) class is proud to participate in a Fundraising Event for Best Buddies. The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
We will be selling holiday plants, which will be delivered on December 8, 2021. Our mission is two-fold: CVE students will have the opportunity to practice social/customer service skills, work on their money skills and inventory skills with all proceeds from this activity benefitting OE’s Best Buddies. All orders must be turned in by Monday, November 8, 2021. Checks may be made payable to Oswego East High School. For more information, or to place an order you can contact Sharon Bergfeld (sbergfeld@sd308.org), Laura Edward (ledward@sd308.org) or Shelly Dvorak (sdvorak@sd308.org).

November is National Gratitude Month
Gratitude is one of the most overlooked tools that we have access to every day. Research has shown that it has many benefits—physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s been found to improve job performance, strengthen marriages and friendships, and enhance overall wellbeing. It is linked to stronger immune systems, lowered blood pressure, greater compassion and lowered stress levels. Practicing gratitude also provides us with greater optimism and can increase happiness by as much as 25 percent.
